International School Manila will be hosting an International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA) Drama Festival for Middle School students from March 14th to 18th, 2019. Three other international schools will join our own ISM students in exploring the theme of Pakikipagkaibigan and how it relates to service in our community.
One of the most important aspects of hosting a successful festival is providing home stays for the visiting students. We are hoping your family is happy to host students from the visiting schools.
“Why should my family consider hosting?”
Hosting is an excellent opportunity for ISM students because it promotes international understanding, develops adaptability, and forges friendships, which often last well beyond Middle School. More importantly, it’s fun!
Hosting also has a very practical purpose: it keeps the costs of running the event at a manageable level for families. Many ISM students have already benefited (or will do so in the future) from home stays in other countries for events such as ISTA, AMIS and IASAS. Therefore, hosting ISTA students is a chance to repay past and future kindnesses as well as make new international friends!
“Hosting sounds fun, but I would like to know a few more details…”
Here is a link to an ISTA information letter which gives mores specific details about dates and the role hosting for ISTA. Please read this letter and if you have any more questions, email the ISM Fine Arts Director Marsha Hillman HillmanM@ismanila.org
